"The Great Awakening" is the title of the first online exhibition of the Máxima Estudio-Taller gallery to be inaugurated next Friday, September 11, 2020 on the Artsteps platform, starting at 10:00 a.m., where it will remain available to the public for a month.
Alberto Lago is the creator chosen to open a cycle of virtual exhibitions with the purpose of promoting art in times of pandemic and social confinement. The intention is to fill homes with good vibes with a message of hope, from the pictorial creation, a principle put into practice by our exhibition space with greater force, in the current period of isolation.
"The great awakening" represents in itself a path of expansion, an exquisite journey through color, intentions and possibilities that Lago gives us from his abstract and figurative landscapes, where the feeling in its purest expression is leitmotiv in the exhibition.
Lago is a lover of fluorescent tonalities and in the exhibition he demonstrates his sensitivity and balance with nature's own forms, as if he were trying to tell us that the most important thing has already been given to us as a species. The circle as the most harmonious figure is the sediment of several works to capture the eyes and hypnotize the mind.
In other pieces, the landscape is even more enigmatic (although much of her work is), tracing small paths with tiny dots and pictorial essences that emphasize her devotion to the abstract, always with a touch of clarity and reasonableness.
For Laura Daranas, who was in charge of the words of the exhibition, "in contemporary Cuban art, Lago occupies an unmistakable place of his own. He works with admirable discipline, painting many hours every day, in a permanent voyage of discovery towards the interior of that manifestation. A journey that he enjoys intensely, judging by the enthusiasm with which he explores and shares each discovery".
We extend the invitation to enjoy the artist's proposal without reservations or borders. "The great awakening" will be available to all to unravel the horizons of a painting that dazzles for its level of demand with the creation itself.
