Sosabravo is 90 years old. A life of magic, art and joy that has been transmuted into canvases and colors to reach the general public, the world. These are not hackneyed words or repeated phrases that fit anywhere, the artist born in Sagua La Grande, Villa Clara, arrives as a kind of comforting light for those who forget the value of happiness.

The National Plastic Arts Award (1997) has not remained only in traditional painting or collage, another of the constants in his works. In addition to being a virtuoso in engraving and ceramics, we can also find him in sculpture, where he has been able to bring to three dimensions the exuberance of his colors and the exoticism of his characters. For more than 20 years, Sosabravo has maintained a collaboration with Ars Murano, an Italian factory specializing in artistic glass, where the Cuban is one of its most important exponents.
The pandemic has deprived us of celebrating the nine decades of Sosabravo, as it deserves, but since weeks ago on the Internet, countless expressions of affection, a review of his creative work over time, has been the proposal of various cultural institutions, to which Maxima joins.
